Hon. Helena Guergis, P.C., M.P. Announces $2,694,501 in federal funding for the County of Simcoe

Residents of Simcoe County will benefit from federal and provincial infrastructure funding for The Expansion of Simcoe County Archives, Improvements to Highway 400 detour Routes, Wilson Drive in Springwater and Rehabilitation of Avening Bridge in Clearview Township announced M.P. Helena Guergis and M.P.P. Aileen Carroll today. These projects are an example of both governments’ commitment to stimulating the Ontario economy through the creation of jobs in our communities.
These projects will enhance local facilities and services and create local jobs.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, our Government is getting shovels in the ground and is flowing money faster to stimulate the economy and create jobs for Ontarians” said Guergis. “Thanks to the strong relationship between our two governments, we can work together to help Ontario communities and the economy thrive immediately and in the future.”

“The funding of these important infrastructure projects will stimulate our economy and create jobs for Simcoe County residents. The County of Simcoe believes that strong partnerships such as this one which brings together all levels of government will benefit residents across the region,” stated County Warden Tony Guergis.
The governments of Canada and Ontario will each invest up to $2,694,501 in these projects. The County of Simcoe will contribute the balance of the total eligible project costs of up to $8.04 million.
