Helena Guergis P.C., M.P. for Simcoe-Grey

Dear Constituents;

It is with great relief that I report that on July 21st the following statement was released;

"Helena Guergis' council, Howard Rubel confirmed today that the RCMP has concluded its inquiries into Ms. Guergis and that he was informed by the RCMP that they will be taking no further action. Inspector John Keuper advised Mr. Rubel that the RCMP has concluded that there was no substance to any of the issues forwarded to them by the Prime Minister's office. All concerns relating to Ms. Guergis have been resolved and no issues remain outstanding."

The past few months have been an extremely difficult time for my family and I.  I am very relieved that the RCMP has concluded their work and that this is now over. It is my wish to rejoin my conservative family to continue to build on the good work that I have done over the past six years. It is time for all involved to move forward and put this behind us. I want to thank all of you who took the time to call, write or stop in the office to offer their encouragement. I appreciate the continued support of my family, staff and all my constituents.

As your Member of Parliament for Simcoe-Grey it is an honour to represent you and bring issues that are important to you to Ottawa. Many of you know me very well; you know that I am a hard worker and care deeply about our community.

As many of you may know, I had some physical health concerns and was on doctor ordered medical leave for 7 weeks. Although I did miss some votes, I did in fact continue to work from home and managed travel to the riding.

I am a conservative and still hold my conservative values and principles and when the House resumes in Ottawa on September 20th I will continue to vote with my conservative colleagues. I will continue to be a strong voice to address the concerns of my constituents.

As always, I enjoyed attending several community events including celebrating Canada Day with the many community leaders, organizers, volunteers, seniors and families who attended. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere thank you to all of you for your warm welcome. I saw many friendly and happy faces in communities across my riding. Your unwavering commitment to promoting our proud heritage was wonderful to see.

Please take the time to highlight for me what is most important to you.

Sincerely,

Hon. Helena Guergis, P.C., M.P., M.B.A.

Simcoe-Grey
